Predictions for 2025: What’s Next for HR Tech and Beyond.
2025 has finally arrived, and one of my resolutions this year is to keep my social postings more frequent. Last year’s health issues caused a drop in productivity, and I had to focus on what really mattered. If there’s one takeaway from that experience, it’s this: we all need to remember that most things can take a backseat when it comes to health, family, and overall wellbeing. So, as I sit on the sofa, looking at my New Year’s banners still hanging in the windows, it’s time to start writing.
Since it’s the New Year, I thought I’d make some predictions. Now, predictions can be a tricky business. Back in 1995, the BBC’s Tomorrow’s World programme decided to predict what the world would look like in 2025. The show, which is no longer broadcast, featured one of the most famous scientists of the time, Professor Stephen Hawking, who predicted: “By 2025, we can expect big changes.”
One prediction from Tomorrow’s World was that by 2004, UK hospitals would be required to publish league tables of surgeons’ success rates. The best surgeons would become so popular and well-paid that it wouldn’t make sense for them to travel to patients. Instead, patient holograms would be sent to the surgeons, who would operate using “spatial gloves.” At the patient’s end, a robot would perfectly mimic the surgeon’s movements. I’d categorize this…
